Back to the Zoo

With Grandpa and Grandma Kinley visiting, we all decided that it would be fun to go the zoo again since the weather was not unbearably hot. The zoo had added a stingray petting exhibit since our last visit (Mommy's favorite)!

We started our long (3.5 miles) walk on the elevated boardwalk through "Africa".

Ji-San (Grandpa K) and Drew got to feed and pet one of the giraffes.

Drew was not as impressed with the animals that were out of reach, like the rhino behind Daddy.

One of Drew's favorite exibits is still the pythons and big lizards, this time there was another little girl there that was equally excited.

"Man Mommy, that sure is a BIG elephant."

Relax everyone, this is just a sculpture of an elephant.

While we were eating our lunch a small bird ran into the window by our table, and after lunch he was still a little dazed so Drew decided to give him a pep talk.

We continued on to the aviary with the lorikeets that are always hungry for some sugarwater. Drew almost worked up the nerve to touch one this time.

Even Mommy got in on the feeding.

After all of the excitement we decided it was time for a train ride around the entire zoo.

We also swung by the pygmy goat petting zoo where Drew got knocked down by one of the hungry little guys.

"I don't think there's any room for you in this treehouse, Daddy."

Our adventure almost over, we made the long treck back to the car tired, but happy.

Drew was out before we hit the Interstate, snuggled up with his new little dinosaur, dreaming about all of the wonderful animals he had seen.
